Week 22, the final week of the 2025 Enco Halifax Cricket League Season saw all Saturday fixtures washed out.

On Sunday, a completely different day weatherwise saw our 3rd team beaten in their final game, still resulting in promotion, but as runners up. Many congratulations go to UHCC Captain Haroon Hanif and his team for this fantastic achievement.

Our 1st and 2nd teams both playing in their first seasons in the leagues top premiership divisions have more than held their own, with both sides finishing respectfully in mid table positions, and should be ecstatic with these accomplishments. Add to this the clubs first silverware in T20 cricket, re-itterates what a successful season we've had and the vast progress that has been made. 

In conclusion, the club has had an excellent season all round, on and off the field, and the club appears definitely to be on the up. Long may this continue!!

Sunday's  3rd Team's game away at Stones CC was unfortunately one game too many as they were skittled out for just 85 runs and Stones CC knocked them off for the loss of 5 wickets quite comfortably in the end.
Despite the defeat there were performances of merit. With the bat young Max Hutton batting 10 top scored managing a score of 23 runs n/o batting very sensibly beyond his years. With the ball Max also performed well, bowling 5 overs for no wickets for just 16 runs. Bowler of the day though was Captain Haroon Hanif with his 9 overs, 2 maidens, 4 wickets for 26 runs. A fitting end to Haroon's superb season.

Week 21, the penultimate week of the 2025 Enco Halifax Cricket League Season saw all our games rain affected with mixed results for the club.
Our 1st team lost away at  Shelf Northowram Hedge Top  CC, whilst our 2nd team match was abandoned during play.
​Pride of place goes to UHCC third team, who's match was also abandoned at home to Barkisland CC but they gained sufficient points to guarantee their promotion to division 2 next season. A momentous achievement for captain Haroon Hanif and his team. A win in their final game next week will also ensure they are promoted as league champions too. Great stuff boys finish it in style.

Our 1st team lost away at Shelf Northowram Hedge Top CC. In a reduced overs and revised total game the opposition proved to be too good on the day. Having  been put in to bat UHCC reach 127 all out in 23.5 overs. With the total revised to 109 from 35 overs Shelf knocked them off in 21 overs for the loss of 5 wickets. Top scoring for UHCC with the bat was Callum Fern with his knock of 34 runs supported by captain Harvey Lockwood's 27 runs. With the ball Dawood Ali shone brightest with 1 over, 2 wickets for 1 run supported by Capt Harvey Lockwood's 2 overs, 2 wickets for 8 runs.

Our 2nd team were defeated by the weather at home against Mount CC. Mount won the toss & elected to bat and were promptly dismissed for 70 runs in just 18 overs. UHCC reached 42/1 from a reduced total of 59 runs, just 17 runs from victory when the umpires called time for the inclement weather.  Top scoring with the bat was George Turton scoring 35 of the 42 runs from 29 balls.  With the ball, the pick was John Stanger with his 5 wickets for 31 runs supported very well by young George Wightman's 3 wickets for 25 runs from just 6 overs.

On Sunday our 3rd Team's game, also hindered by the weather saw them gain enough points to win promotion against Barkisland CC.  Having been put into bat UHCC reached 117/6 before the rain intervened. Top scoring with the bat was Usman Ali with his fine knock of 46 runs, supported well by Ali Asghir's score of 39 runs.  The UHCC innings didn't complete. Go well next week boys and bring that title home!

Week 20 of the Enco Halifax Cricket League saw mixed results for the club. Our 1st team lost at home to Illingworth St Mary's CC whilst our 2nd team won away at Great Horton Park Chapel CC. Our 3rd team lost at home to Rastrick CC on Sunday, also sadly on Sunday our 1st team lost in the vocation Brewery T20 final held at Mytholmroyd CC.

Our 1st team lost at home to Illingworth St Mary's CC. Having  put the opposition into bat and them reaching 138 all out. UHCC set about beating that, but sadly fell short. Top scoring with the bat was Harry Scott with his 25 runs supported well by his brother Will scoring 24 runs. With the ball Will Scott was the pick with his 3 wickets for 23 runs supported well by Charlie Wightman's figures of 3 wickets for 35 runs.

Our 2nd team played away at Gt Horton Pk Chapel CC and had an excellent tight low scoring win. Top scoring with the bat was Ryan Hagemann with his excellent 51 runs. With the ball the pick was John Stanger with his 4 wickets for 24 runs supported well by Haroon Hanif's 3 wickets for 45 runs.

Our 3rd Team suffered a defeat at home on Sunday to Rastrick CC. In a reduced 32 over game UHCC batted 1st and obtained 160/7. Top scoring with the bat was Joel Mason with his excellent 57 runs not out, supported well by Usman Ali 33 runs & Ali Asghir 32 runs. With the ball Capt Haroon Hanif excelled with his 5 wicket haul for 51 runs, and Usman Ali's 3 wickets for 31 runs.

On Sunday our 1st team played & sadly lost to Thornton CC at Mytholmroyd CC in the Vocation Brewery T20 Final. Top scoring with the bat was Thomas Wightman with his excellent 44 runs supported by Capt Harvey Lockwood's 24 runs. With the ball Will Scott 2/27, Harry Scott 2/32 & Dawood Ali 2/32 were the picks.​

Sunday 31/8/2025 saw UHCC crowned Phillip Akroyd Competition (Mirfield Bash) T20 Champions. This day saw two semi finals and a final take place. ​Semi's - Moorlands CC  v  UHCC & Mirfield Parish CCC  v  Crossbank Methodists CC
Final -Mirfield Parish CCC  v  UHCC
UHCC's first game (Semi Final) saw Capt Charlie Gallagher win the toss & electing to bat. Reaching a score of 146/9. Top scoring with the bat was Daniel Grant with his 56 runs from 35 balls & Harvey Lockwood's 25 runs from 12 balls. With the ball also, Daniel Grant led the way with his 3/12 & Harry Scott's 2/26.  Moorlands CC went from a position of almost certain victory, were blown away by UHCC's late surge. UHCC Capt Charlie Gallagher was unfortunately injured during this game.
UHCC 2nd Game (Final). Having lost the toss & Fielding 1st UHCC reduced Mirfield Parish CCC to 161/6 from their 20 overs.
In reply UHCC surpassed 161/6 for the loss of just 1 wicket in 16.3 overs.
Top scoring with the bat was our stand in skipper Harvey Lockwood with a fantastic knock of 98 runs from 51 balls, supported brilliantly by Harry Scott's superb 54 n/o from 43 balls. With the ball Will Scott 2/16 & Charlie Wightman 2/34 were the pick. This win saw UHCC collect their first silverware of the season. Well done boys, a fantastic achievement.

Week 19 of the Enco Halifax Cricket League saw both 1st & 2nd teams beaten by the weather on saturday. Matches started but failed to complete. However on Sunday our 3rd team maintained their excellent promotion push by winning a good game away at Lightcliffe CC.

Our 1st team played away at Clayton CC. Having been put into bat  Will Scott led the way with the bat once again with his excellent  knock of 61 runs supported very well by Jordan Bloom with a fine 56 runs. Amassing a score of and declaring on 233/9. Sadly the weather intervened during Clayton's reply managing 10/0 from just 1.3 overs before being deluged.

Our 2nd team hosted Illingworth St Mary's CC. UHCC Skipper for the game Ian Wightman won the toss & elected to bat.  Setting Illingworth a target of 154/9. Top scoring for UHCC with the bat was Ryan Hagemann with an excellent 52 runs supported very well by Louis Lockwood's knock of 40 runs. In reply Illingworth managed to face just 10 overs reaching a score of 16/0 before the rain interupted & ceased any further play.

Our 3rd Team had an excellent victory away at Lightcliffe CC on Sunday. UHCC captain Haroon Hanif chose to bat first reaching a score of 164 all out in 37.4 overs. Top scoring with the bat was Zack B Wood with a superb knock of 51 runs, supported well by keeper Idrees Ali's knock of 32runs & Ali Asghir's 27 runs. With the ball Young George Wightman led the way with his figures of 9 overs 3 maidens 4 wickets for 26 runs. Another much needed victory to maintain their promotion push with just x3 fixtures remaining.

On Sunday 24th Aug, Bank holiday weekend 2025 Upper Hopton CC had the pleasure of welcoming Leicestershire's finest touring team Twycross CC to Jackroyd Lane. Both teams enjoyed an extremely relaxed game of cricket interspersed with a few drinks in the slips and around the outfield and plenty plenty more after the game.

Huge thank you to everyone from Twycross CC (who numbered 20+ members) with special mention to Andy Scott (Uncle to UHCC's very own Harry & Will Scott).
Discussions are now taking place to arrange a return fixture next year.  UHCC on tour!!

 Week 18 of the Enco Halifax Cricket League saw both 1st & 2nd teams beaten.  Our 3rd team however maintained their promotion push by winning excellently away at Thornton CC. 
​
Our 1st team sadly lost away at Copley CC. Top scoring with the bat was DAwood Ali with his 44 runs n/o, supported well by capt Harvey Lockwood with his 37 runs. With the ball Harry Scott took the plaudits with his 4 wickets for 45 runs.

Our 2nd team lost at home to Blackley CC.  Top  scoring for UHCC with the bat was Louis Lockwood with his excellent 55 runs n/o. Supported well by Zack Wood's 40 runs & Edward Kay who carried his bat for the full 45 overs reaching an impressive 32 runs in the process! With the ball John Stanger was the pick with his 3 wickets for 54 Runs. This game was marred by the loss of our vice skipper Alfie Ruttle for the rest of the season with a badly dislocated finger requiring surgery.

Our 3rd Team had an excellent victory away at Thornton CC on Sunday. Top scoring with the bat was Ali Asghir with his excellent 73 runs supported very well by Usman Ali's knock of 42 runs. Navraj Dhami also contributed well with his 29 runs. With the ball Zack Wood was the pick with his 3 wickets for 42 runs. 3rd team presently sits 40 pts clear at the top of the league table with x4 matches remaining.

Week 17 of the Enco Halifax Cricket League saw mixed results for the club.  Our 1st team were defeated by Bradshaw CC at home, whilst our 2nd team won excellently away at Copley CC in a very good competetive game.

The 1st team sadly lost to Bradshaw CC. Top scoring with the bat was Louis Lockwood with his 28 runs n/o, supported well by Will Scott's 26 runs.  With the ball Jordan Bloom took the plaudits with his 4 wickets for 24 runs.

Our 2nd team won an excellent game at Copley CC.  Top  scoring for UHCC with the bat in an exceptional performance was Ryan Hagermann with his magnificent 100 runs n/o from 101 balls,  supported well crucially & latterly by Usman Ali 26 runs & Haroon Hanif 25 runs n/o. With the ball Waseem Iqbal on his return from a long injury led the way with his 4 wickets for 41 runs.

Week 16 of the Enco Halifax Cricket League saw mixed results for the club.  Our 1st team performed excellently with a superb victory away against Thornton CC, and our 2nd team were defeated by Greetland CC at home in a close game. 
The 1st team won very well away from home. Top scoring with the bat was Will Scott with his knock of 64 runs supported excellently by Daniel Grant with his 62 runs. With the ball Harry Scott took the plaudits with  impressive figures of 5 wickets for 48 runs. Supported well by Charlie Gallagher figures of 4/48. Great result boys.
Our 2nd team lost a tight game against Greetland CC at home. Top  scoring for UHCC with the bat was Caelen Hadwin with his 58 runs supported well by Zack B Wood's knock of 41 runs.  With the ball Haroon Hanif led the way once again with his superb 6 wicket haul for 61 runs.
Our 3rd Team had a convincing win away at Barkisland CC. Having reduced them to 86 all out George Wightman & Ali Asghir shared the batting plaudits with 25 runs each. With the ball Captain Haroon Hanif excelled yet again with his 5 wicket haul for just 17 runs.

Week 15 of the Enco Halifax Cricket League saw bumper maximum point wins for both 1st & 2nd teams this weekend in a double header against SBCI CC.
The 1st team won very well at Home. With the Scott brothers dominating proceedings once again. Will Scott led the way with the bat with his magnificent 105 runs supported very well by Lewis Edmond's knock of 79. With the ball Harry Scott took the plaudits with very impressive figures of 7 wickets for 39 runs. Outstanding performances boys.
Our 2nd team won very well away at SBCI CC. Top  scoring for UHCC with the bat was Captain Dan Nicholls with his fine knock of 60 runs, supported well by Zack B Wood's score of 36 runs not out.  With the ball Haroon Hanif led the way with his 4 wickets for 20 runs supported well by Alfie Ruttle's 3/28.

Week 14 of the Enco Halifax Cricket League saw mixed results for the club . 
The 1st team won well away, whilst our 2nds lost at home & our 3rds won well at home on Sunday.
Our 1st team managed an excellent win away at Warley & Elland CC. Top scoring for UHCC with the bat was Will Scott with a magnificent 141 runs. With the ball Will Scott excelled again with his 3/8 & Charlie Wightman's 3/27. To round off Will Scott's excellent day he also achieved x2 run outs. Outstanding Will.
Our 2nd team lost an entertaining high scoring game at home to Warley & Elland CC. Top scoring for UHCC with the bat was Ian Wightman with a magnificent 117 runs, supported well by Alfie Ruttle's 52 runs. With the ball the pick was Zack Wood with his 3/61 supported by George Wightman's 2/69 & Alfie Ruttle's 2/85.
Our 3rd team won well at home to Oakworth CC. Top scoring with the bat was young Jonah Swain who led the way with his 67 runs, supported very well by the evergreen Richard Wood 's knock of 46 runs. With the ball John Stanger was the pick with his 5/20 supported by Zack Wood & Max Hutton with their 2 wickets each.

1st team's match at home to Triangle CC did not start.
2nd team's match away at Triangle CC managed 19 overs before the weather intervened. UHCC won the toss & elected to bat. Reaching 91 for 3 with Ian Wightman top scoring with his 23 runs.
3rd team's match at Greetland CC managed 8.3 overs before the rain intervened. Greetland CC won the toss & elected to bat. Reaching 39/1 with George Wightman taking the only wicket.

Week 12 of the Enco Halifax Cricket League saw both 1st & 2nd teams narrowly beaten by a professional outfit in Booth CC in two very competetive matches.
Our 1st team were defeated away by Booth CC. Top scoring with the bat was Will Scott with an excellent 82 runs not out supported well by Capt Harvey Lockwood with his knock of 69 runs. With the ball Will Scott led the way with an excellent 4/57.
Our 2nd team were defeated at home to Booth CC. Leading the way with the bat Ian Wightman excelled with his 53 runs. Supported excellently by Ryan Hagermann's 39 runs & Alfie Ruttle's 38 runs. With the ball Haroon Hanif led the way with his 4/60  supported well by Alfie Ruttle's  2/50.  
Our 3rd team won excellently at home to Greetland CC. Top scoring with the bat was George Wightman with his knock of 26 runs. With the ball, Capt Haroon Hanif led the way with 3/22 supported well by Max Hutton & Zack B Wood with their 2 wickets each. This result maintained their status as league leaders.

Our 1st team were defeated at home by Oxenhope CC. Top scoring with the bat was Will Scott with an excellent 60 runs. With the ball Harry Scott led the way with 4/47
Our 2nd team defeated Sowerby Bridge CC away from home. Top scoring with the bat Capt Dan Nichols excelled with his score of 66 runs. Supported excellently by Zack B Wood's knock of 41 runs. With the ball Alfie Ruttle led the way with his 3/42 supported well by Zack B Wood 2/34 & John Stanger's  2/41 
Our 3rd team won excellently away at SBCI CC, Young aussie Tom Scott reaching an excellent 79 n/o supported well by Usman Ali with his knock of 33 runs. with the ball the spoils were shared by young Tom Scott 2/18 George Wightman 2/23 and debutant Mike Scott 2/40.

Week 10 of the Enco Halifax Cricket League was a  bumper maximum point weekend  for the club with both 1st & 2nd teams gaining excellent victories. 
Our 1st team defeated Shelf Northowram Hedge Top CC at home in an excellent high scoring game. Stand in skipper for the day Lewis Edmond  won the toss & elected to bat in what was an exceptional day for him personally leading the team to an impressive victory reaching  a score of 316/6 and contributing 134 of those runs himself. (His 2nd century this season). Our Aussie pairing of Will & Harry Scott supporting very well also with their 78 & 58 runs respectively. Not being content with that Harry Scott also excelled with the ball  taking an impressive 6 wickets in the game and reducing the opposition to a score of 240 all out.
Our 2nd team defeated Mount CC away from home. Winning the toss & electing to bat first UHCC reached 197/4 in their 45 overs. Alfie Ruttle leading the way with the bat with an impressive 77 runs not out supported excellently by Ryan Hagermann with his knock of 59 runs not out also. With the ball, opening pairing of Haroon Hanif & John Stanger saw off x9 wickets between them, Haroon leading the way with an impressive 5/40 & John's 4/51 on a hot sun drenched day reducing Mount CC to a score of 107 all out.

Week 9 of the Enco Halifax Cricket League saw mixed results for the club with our 1st team, losing away to Illingworth St Mary's CC. Whilst our 2nd team had an excellent win at home against Great Horton Park Chapel CC. Our third team won by default due to Stones CC Conceding. 
Our 1st Team were beaten  by an excellent Illingworth St Mary's team who batted 1st and reached 286/5. We reached 122 all out with Harry Scott top scoring with 27 runs & leading the way with the ball taking 3 of the 5 wickets. 
Our 2nd team won well at home against Great Horton Park Chapel CC. With the bat Richard Wood led the way with his knock of 53 n/o supported well by Ian wightman 42 runs & Alfie Ruttle's 40 runs. With the ball Haroon Hanif performed exceptionally taking an amazing 6 wickets for 8 runs in just 2.2 overs.

Week 8 of the Enco Halifax Cricket League saw a superb weekend for our 1st team, winning twice (in the League & a T20 Trophy Semi final victory. Our 2nd's losing away at an Impressive Illingworth St Mary's CC & Our 3rd team had an excellent win v Rastrick CC played at Outlane CC.
​ Saturday, our 1st Team beat  Clayton CC at home emphatically. Capt Harvey Lockwood excelling with the bat with his knock of 112 runs supported admirably by Will Scott's 52 runs & Lewis Edmond's 43 runs. With the ball Will Scott faired best with his 3/5 runs with his bro Harry Scott 's 3/30 runs.
Our 2nd team lost away to an Impressive Illingworth St Mary's CC. Ryan Hagemann (31 runs) top scoring with the bat.​
Sunday's 3rd team had an excellent win against Rastrick CC played away at Outlane CC due to cup match congestion.   Choosing to bat 1st  we reached 221/8 with Idrees Ali leading the way with his maiden 50 runs & Ali Asghar's 43 runs. With the ball Capt Haroon Hanif led the way with his excellent 4 wickets for 8  runs. This excellent win resulted in our 3rd team going top of their leauge table.

On Sunday our 1st team played & beat Copley CC at home in the Vocation Brewery T20 Semi Final. Progressing into the Sun July 6th, 3pm start T20 Trophy final at Mytholmroyd CC where they will play Thornton CC for the crown of 2025 T20 Trophy Champions.
With the bat Lewis Edmond top scored with his 47 runs, supported well by Harry Scott & Harvey Lockwood each getting 36 runs.
​With the ball Danny Grant was the pick with his 3/26 supported well by Zack Wood 2/11, Eddie Kay 2/16 & Will Scott 2/18. An excellent day & win for the club who now find themselves in a showcase final. Well done boys.
This Sun  6/7/25 final also sees Greetland CC play Oakworth CC in their T20 Plate final which starts before our T20 Trophy final at 11.00am.
Week 7 of the Enco Halifax Cricket League saw both our 1st & 2nd teams defeated, whilst our 3rd team won emphatically once again.
​ Our 1st Team lost to Copley CC at home. Thomas Wightman top scoring with the bat with his 28 runs. With the ball Charlie Gallagher led the way with his 3/35.

Week 6 of the Enco Halifax Cricket League saw an excellent max 12 point win for the 1st team away at Bradshaw CC. Our 2nd teams lost narrowly at home to Copley CC, Whilst the 3rd team won quite emphatically at home to Crossflatts CC on Sunday. 
​ Our 1st Team beat Bradshaw CC away. Merits with the bat go to Lewis Edmond top scoring with an excellent 93 runs, supported well by Callum Fern 's 32 runs.  With the ball Harry Scott was the pick with his 4/24, debutant Dawood Ali with his 3/21  & Charlie Wightman's 3/32.
Our 2nd team lost by just 6 runs to Copley CC at home. Merits with the bat go to Ryan Hagermann with an excellent 74 runs supported well by George Turton 's 34 runs. With the ball Skipper Alfie Ruttle led the way with his 4/40 & Eddie Kay's 4/70.
Sunday's 3rd team won emphatically at home to Crossflatts CC.  Having reduced the opposition to just 26 runs all out. Captain Haroon Hanif led the bowling with his excellent 6/20. With the bat, our openers Jonah Swain & Ali Asghir knocked them off without loss.

On Sunday our 1st team participated in a three team playoff Vocation Brewery T20 (Bread & Butter) competition ​at Illingworth St Mary's CC along with Triangle CC. Our first team progressed well to the next round by beating both teams on the day.
1st match against Triangle CC, UHCC won the toss & batted 1st reaching 182/7 with Jordan Bloom top scoring with 37 runs, Harvey Lockwood 35 runs & Tom Wilson 32 runs. With the ball Cap't Charlie Gallagher led the way with his 3/17 & Charlie Wightman & Will Scott with 2 wickets each. 
2nd match v  Illingworth St Mary's CC saw us put in to bat & reaching 142/8 from the 20 overs. Will Scott & Lewis Edmond led the way with the bat with their 52 & 51 runs respectively. With the ball Will Scott was the pick with his 4/11 supported well by Eddie Kay,s 3/8 & Charlie Wightman's 2/18. This put us through to the next round of games.
Week 5 of the Enco Halifax Cricket League saw an excellent win for the 1st team against Thornton CC at Home. Our 2nd teams game at Greetland CC was cancelled with the wicket deemed unsafe to play.
The 3rd team managed an excellent win Away at Oakworth CC.
​ 1st Team beat Thornton CC at home. Merits with the Bat go to Harry Scott who top scored with 56, supported well by Lewis  Edmond's 40 & Jordan Bloom's 37. With the ball Charlie Gallagher was the pick with his 4/23 & Harry Scott's 3/43. Capt, Harvey Lockwood taking 4 catches in the field.
2nd team's game at Greetland CC was cancelled due to weeds growing all over their wicket, deemed unplayable by the match umpire.

Fri 23/05/2025 saw a fantastic day in the sun with the club hosting a selection of Key Stage 2 children at our ground. It was great to see so many children getting involved in the game of cricket and making the most of our facilities.
A big thank you goes to Jen Muckle of the YCB for organising this event. A great time was had by everyone!
Week 4 of the Enco Halifax Cricket League saw excellent wins for the 1st's & 2nd teams with the 3rd team unfortunately losing on Sunday.
​ 1st Team beat SBCI CC away thanks mainly to Lewis Edmond's maiden century for the club hitting 101 runs & Harry Scott's 33 runs. Harry scott also taking 4 wickets was the pick of the bowlers.
2nd team won at home to SBCI CC with opener George Turton leading the way by carrying the bat with his 61 runs not out. Having got the opposition out for 114 runs. John Stanger's 4/48 & Alfie Ruttle's 3/41 & the experienced Graham Whitworth's contribution of 1.5 overs , 1 Maiden , 2 wickets for 1 run excelled with the ball.
Sundays 3rd team lost away at Crossflats CC. Matthew Haigh 29, Robert Wild 26 & Idrees Ali 23  led the batting. With the ball Captain Haroon Hanif was the pick with his 3/28 supported well by Atif Sarfraz's 3/38.

Week 3 of the Enco Halifax Cricket League was a bumper maximum points weekend with all three teams winning in the glorious sushine.
​ 1st Team beat Warley & Elland at home thanks mainly to Jordan Bloom's maiden century for the club hitting 103 runs & Tom Wilson's 53 runs. Will Scott & Charlie Gallagher taking 3 wickets each with the ball.
2nd team won Away at Warley & Elland in a low scoring game. Having got the opposition out for 80 runs.  Ian Wightman top scoring with the bat with his 24 runs. Eddie Kay excelling with the ball with his 5/43 & young Zack Wood's special 2/0 in 2.3 overs.

The new 2025 Enco Halifax Cricket League season is underway, and for both UHCC 1st & 2nd teams, now in their ultimate top Premier League divisions, a reality check took place with both teams being defeated by excellent Booth CC teams at Home & Away, answering any questions as to whether it would be a step up to a higher level of cricket and whether it would pose new challenges for us this season.

The final Week 21 of the Enco Halifax Cricket League saw another fantastic  weekend for the club which saw both the 1st  &  2nd team's finishing with maximum point victories cementing their promotion into the premiership divisions. Our 3rd Team had no fixture this weekend.
1st Team were at home to Augustinians (Woodhouse) CC. Winning the toss & electing to bat saw them reach 164 all out from 41 .5 overs. Merits go to Thomas Wilson with the bat, top scoring with 44 supported excellently by Charlie Gallagher's 40 runs.   With the ball, Jordan Bloom was the pick with his 4 wickets for 18 runs supported greatly by Lewis Edmond's 3 wickets for 17 runs.
 2nd Team played away at Thornton CC. UHCC won the toss & fielded 1st managing to restrict Thornton to 130 all out and managing to knock them off for the loss of just 1 wicket. Merits go to, With the bat, George Turton led the way with his 62 runs not out, assisted brilliantly by captain Dan Nicholls with his 53 not out. With the ball  Eddie Kay & John Stanger both took 3 wickets each & young Zack Wood contributing majorly with his 2 wickets for 6 runs and 2 catches, one being incredible. A superb season concluded for the 1st & 2nd teams.

The penultimate Week 20 of the Enco Halifax Cricket League saw a fantastic  weekend for the club which saw both the 1st  &  2nd team's gaining their 2nd consecutive seasons promotion, this time to the top premiership division by gaining sufficient points in their rain abandoned matches.
1st Team were at home to Low Moor Holy Trinity CC  batting 1st due to being put in. UHCC reached 173/9 off a reduced 34 over innings. Merits go to Harry Scott who top scored with the bat reaching an excellent 78 runs, supported well by Capt Harvey Lockwood with his 34 runs. With the ball, x4 bowlers each took a wicket apiece. 
 2nd Team played away at Sowerby St Peters CC. Put in to bat UHCC reached 141/3 before the weather finished the game. Merits go to:- Alfie Ruttle who struck an excellent 71 runs on his debut as an opener, supported excellently by Capt Dan Nicholls with his knock of 44 runs.
3rd Team's critical Sunday home game against Thornton CC was cancelled due to inclement weather making the game unplayable.

In our very first season for our 3rd team, who have performed excellently. With just 1 match remaining have  a chance of promotion if they can beat Thornton CC in their 2nd v 3rd position final home game convincingly.

1st Team won their top 2 clash away at Great Horton Park Chappel CC  Merits go to :- With the bat, Lewis Edmond who top scored with his knock of 41 supported well by Tom Wightman's 32 runs. With the ball, Matthew Broadbent led the way with 4/50 supported well by Jack Stephenson's 3/42.
 2nd Team won their top 2 clash at home against Copley CC. Merits go to:- With the bat, George Turton excelled with his 76 runs. With the ball, John Stanger & Eddie Kay both took 4 wickets each.
3rd Team won away at Bradshaw CC Yorks. Merits go to Zack B Wood who top scored with 31 runs not out, supported well by George Wightman's 24 runs not out in a rain affected match.

Week 17 of the Enco Halifax Cricket League saw a bumper weekend for the club  with both 1st & 2nd teams gaining maximum points and maintaining their promotion ambitions.
There was no 3rd team fixture this weekend.
1st Team won at home against  Blackley CC,  Merits go to :- With the bat, Callum Fern who top scored with his knock of 43 runs batting at No.7. With the ball, the wickets were spread across x5 Bowlers,  Charlie Gallagher leading the way with his 3/14.
 2nd Team won well away at Shelf Northowram Hedge Top CC. Merits go to:- With the bat, our opening pair excelled, George Turton 77* & Ian Wightman 56* knocked off the required 157 runs without loss. With the ball, captain for the day Alfie Ruttle 
shone with his 4/46 from just 5.5 overs, supported well by John Stanger 's 4/30.
Week 16 of the Enco Halifax Cricket League saw an excellent weekend for the clubs  1st team at home to Low Moor Holy Trinity  CC & the 2nd Team who won away at Sowerby St Peters CC.
Third team unfortunately lost at home to Old Town CC.
 1st Team Merits go to:- Batting, the opening pair excelled, Tom Wightman 60* & Harry Scott 54* both not out!  With the ball, Charlie Gallagher was the pick with his 4/34 supported well by Thomas Wilson 3/29 & Matt Broadbent 3/32.

Week 15 of the Enco Halifax Cricket League saw a mixed weekend for the club with the 1st team losing only their 2nd league game all season at Clayton CC whilst the 2nd Team winning excellently at home against Old Town CC.

 1st Team Merits go to Callum Fern with his knock of 59 runs. With the ball Charlie Gallagher excelled with his 5 wickets for 35 runs.
2nd Team beat Old Town CC. Merits go  to top scorer George Turton with his 29 runs supported well by Ryan Hagemann 's knock of 25. With the ball Eddie Kay excellled once again with his 5 for 78 supported well by J. Stanger's 4 for 44. In the field George Turton excelled taking x4 catches in the deep mid on position, worthy of comment.

1st team beating Greetland CC at home. 
 Merits go to Captain *Harvey Lockwood with his majestic 101 runs.* With the ball Charlie Wightmen excelled with his 4/21.
2nd Team beat Queensbury CC away.
Merits go to Alfie Ruttle with his top knock of 37 & Matthew Haigh's knock of 33 . With the ball Eddie Kay excelled with 5/23  & J. Stanger 4/34.
3rd Team beat Slaithwaite CC in a sunny away fixture.
Merits go to Ian Wightman for his knock of 82 & Ryan Hagemann's 54 runs on debut. With the ball Zack B Wood was the pick with his 4/28 & Khuram Akhtar's (Korma) 3/17. Well done boys.
Week 13 of the Enco Halifax Cricket League saw excellent wins for 1st & 2nd teams but unfortunately the 3rd team suffered their 1st defeat of the season.

Week 8 of the Enco Halifax Cricket League was a complete wash out.
Not one Saturday 1st or 2nd Team fixture completed in the whole league program.
However, our Sunday 3rd Team managed an excellent win against Bradshaw CC at home. In a delayed start game, Captain R. Wood won the toss and elected to field first. This proved to be a good decision as Bradshaw CC's 9 man team were swiftly reduced to 49 all out inside 20 overs. It was a memorable day for young George Wightman who at the age of 14 made his UHCC debut at senior level taking a wicket with his very first bowl, finishing with figures of 5 Overs, 1 Maiden 1 wicket for just 7 runs. Well done George. J. Stanger 3 wickets, Zack B Wood 2 wickets & D. Stones 1 wicket were the other bowlers on the day. With the bat UHCC's Ali Asghir led the way with his knock of 28  not out along with his opening partner David Stones 18 not out reaching 53/0 in just 7.1 overs.
 Week 7 of the Enco Halifax Cricket League was an excellent bumper 24 Maximum point weekend with both 1st & 2nd teams winning well. The 1st team won a top of the table clash at home to Great Horton Park Chapel CC.  With the bat Tom Wightman top scored with his excellent 60 runs, supported well by Harvey Lockwood's 43 not out & Lewis Edmond's 37 Runs. With the ball Eddie Kay's  3 wickets for 6 runs were the pick, supported well by C. Gallagher, C. Wightman & M. Broadbent with 2 wickets each.
The 2nd team also had an excellent win away at top of the table Copley CC. UHCC batted 1st and achieved a score of 130 all out. Copley CC were all out for 107 runs. Top scoring with the bat was Cap't Dan Nicholls with his 31 runs supported well by Alfie Ruttle 26 & Graham Whitworth 19. With the ball Alfie Ruttle was the pick with his 4 wickets helped by Oliver Boyes 3 wickets.
Week 6 of the Enco Halifax Cricket League saw mixed results for the club. 1st team Having an excellent low scoring win away at Blackley CC. Whilst the 2nd team were beaten at home by Shelf Northowram Hedge Top CC.
1st Team put Blackley CC in to bat  and promptly dismissed them for 55 runs.
Opening bowlers Matt Broadbent and Jack Stephenson taking x5 wickets each. Callum Fern led the way with the bat scoring 28 Not out supported by Tom Wightman 14 & Capt Harvey Lockwood 19 Not out. 
The 2nd team had a tight low scoring defeat at home. Put into bat 1st UHCC reached 107/8 from their allocated overs. David Bottomley top scoring with his knock of 40 runs supported well by Ian Wightman 22 runs. With the ball Capt Alfie Ruttle led the way with his 3 wickets for 25 runs, supported well by Louis Lockwood 2/15 & J.Stanger 2/29

Week 5 of the 2024 Enco Halifax Cricket League had mixed results for the club. The 1st team had an excellent victory away at Low Moor Holy Trinity CC.  A low scoring game where the hosts put UHCC in to bat who managed 92 All out in 42.5 Overs. Capt Harvey Lockwood top scoring with the bat with 31 runs. With the ball Matthew Broadbent & Charlie Wightman excelled with 3 wickets each very economically. Ultimately reducing Low Moor Holy Trinity CC to 68 all out.  The 2nd team however in another low scoring game suffered defeat at home to Sowerby St Peters CC. George Turton top scoring for the club with his 31 runs out of a total of 63 All out. With the ball Waseem Iqbal & Edward Kay excelled with 4 wickets each but were still unable to prevent Sowerby St Peters reaching the winning score of 72 all out.

Week 4 of the Enco Halifax Cricket League saw another maximum 24 point weekend with both 1st & 2nd teams winning well. The 1st team beat Clayton CC at home batting 1st reached a total of 117 All out. Captain Harvey Lockwood top scoring with 44 runs. With the ball Charlie Gallagher was the pick with 4 wickets for 14 runs supported very well by Harry Scott with 3 wickets for 17 runs. The 2nd team beat Old Town CC away. Having won the toss Capt Dan elected to Field 1st which paid off as Old town were dismissed for 59 runs All out. The bowling attack led by J. Stanger who took 7 wickets for 33, supported very well but with little luck by Charlie Wightman 2 for 12. A point of note also, re the fielding performance, many excellent catches and a sharp run out contributed to the victory.

Week 3 of the Enco Halifax Cricket League saw excellent victories for both 1st & 2nd teams. The 1st team won away, batting 2nd after Greetland CC won the toss. UHCC's bowling attack reduced their opposition to a score of 127 all out. Thomas Wilson (3) Jack Stephenson & Lewis Edmond (2) each the main wicket takers. UHCC batters faired better by knocking of the total for the loss of only 2 wickets. Captain Harvey Lockwood led the way with his knock of 55 not out, supported excellently by Thomas Wightman's knock of 44. The 2nd team beat Queensbury CC at home in a  very close tense low scoring game. Queensbury CC elected to field 1st and promptly dismissed UHCC for miserly 71 All out. George Turton top scoring with his 24 runs & Captain Dan Nicholls knock of 20. UHCC bowlers quickly got into their task Led by Eddie Kay, 4 wickets, Alfie Ruttle & Some old geezer (me) 3 Wickets each, ultimately rendered Queensbury CC all out for 70 therefore winning by just 1 run.

After week 1's complete washout it was nice to finally get the 2024 season underway with two excellent victories for the First & Second teams. Both against Mytholmroyd CC opposition. At home, the 1st Team made short work of beating Mytholmroyd having bowled them out for just 30 runs, with Jack Stephenson & Matthew Broadbent renewing their rivalry & excelling in taking 5 wickets each. UHCC reaching the winning 31 runs from just 4 overs without loss.
The 2nd team's victory away from home was a tighter affair with the home team reaching 204/8. UHCC's Eddie Kay taking 3 wickets, and Alfie Ruttle 2. The away victory was ensured with a magnificent 106 not out  by veteran club legend Ian Wightman (pictured) supported greatly by captain Dan Nicholls with his tremendous 74 not out innings. The winning 205 score reached for the loss of just 1 wicket.
​An excellent start for both teams in their higher divisions this season.

The final week. Round 22 of the Enco Halifax Cricket League was an amazing day/season's end for UHCC. It saw the 1st team promoted as Champions! with a fine win at home against Old Town CC. It also saw the 2nd team promoted, runners up! with an excellent win away at Leymoor CC.
The first team batted 1st & set a good score of 240/6. Performances of merit with the bat were:- Harry Scott led the way with a superb 68 n/o display, ably supported with excellent knocks's from Harvey Lockwood 68 & Thomas Wightman 60. With the ball, Harvey Lockwood's 3 wickets for 10 runs in 3.3 overs was the pick, supported very well by Jack Stephenson's 3 for 64  Harry Scott's 2 for 10, resulting in Old Town CC being all out for 129.
The 2nd team fielded 1st and reduced an 8 man Leymoor CC to just 31 runs all out.
Performances with the ball were:- Edward Kay's excellent 4 wickets for 15 runs & John Stanger's 3 wickets for 14 runs. The two's knocked this score off for the loss of x1 wicket. Dan Nicholls 13 n/o & George Turton 12 n/o.
An absolutely fabulous season for the club. Well done to all involved, Players, Umpires, Scorers, Groundsmen, Tea ladies, Cleaners, Spectators, & Club Officials.

Round 21 of the Enco Halifax Cricket League saw the 1st team promoted with a fine win away at Leymoor CC. The 2nd's however seem to be trying not to win promotion with their 2nd successive defeat in losing at home to 3rd place Stones CC.
The 1st team won well beating Leymoor CC. Performances of merit were:- With the bat several players contributed well. Callum Fern 56 not out led the way, Joe Woodhouse 40, Jack Stephenson 38, Harvey Lockwood 35,  Harry Scott 33, Usman Ali & Thomas Wilson both with 26 in their total of 273/6, . With the ball  Jack Stephenson shone brightest with his figures of 5 for 37, supported well by Thomas Wilson's 3 for 9 & Matt Broadbent 2 for 28.
The 2nd Team however lost badly in their 2nd v 3rd clash at home to Stones CC. Batting 1st & being all out for 48 Runs gave the bowlers a difficult task. Stones CC knocked this off for the loss of just 2 wickets and jumped into 2nd place ahead of ourselves.
Performances of merit with the bat were:- None!!
With the ball None also, though John Stanger took both wickets.
Round 20 of the Enco Halifax Cricket League saw the 1st team win at home to Stones CC, & enhance their Promotion ambitions.  The 2nd's lost poorly in the top two clash at top of the table Old Town CC, severely denting their promotion hopes.
The 1st team won well beating Stones CC. Performances of merit were:- With the bat Harry Scott led the way with his not out Knock of 66 runs, supported well by Harvey Lockwood's knock of 26. With the ball Matt Broadbent & Jack Stephenson shared the spoils with x4 wickets each.
The 2nd Team however lost badly in their top 2 clash away at Old Town CC. 
Performances of merit with the bat were:- Matthew Haigh's knock of 37 supported well by Danny Martin's total of 21 were the pick.
With the ball  Edward Kay led the way with 4 wickets for 50 runs, supported well by John Stanger with his 3 wickets for 51 runs.

 Round 19 of the Enco Halifax Cricket League saw the 1st team win incredibly and the 2nd team game abandoned mid game due to rain.
The 1st team had an incredible victory at home to Bradley & Colnebridge CC & maintain their promotion ambitions.
UHCC Batting 1st  reached a score of 167/7 declared off 37.2 Overs. 
Performances of merit with the bat were:- Harvey Lockwood's excellent knock of 64 lead the way, ably supported by Harry Scott 29, Thomas Wightman 26 & Thomas Wilson 25 n/o.
Then with the ball came a UHCC superstar in Matthew Broadbent with an incredible feat of fast bowling, resulting in the unbelievable figures of:- 3 Overs, 2 Maidens, 8 Wickets, (inc 2 Hatricks)  for 1 run. Truly amazing. Well done Matt in contributing significantly in getting Bradley & Colnebridge CC all out for just 5 Runs.
The 2nd team did the hard work in getting Southowram CC all out for 81 runs away from home, with performance of merit with the ball from Edward Kay with figures of 14 Overs , 5 Maidens, 4 Wickets for 34 Runs, ably supported by John Stanger with his 3 Wickets for 30 Runs. With the bat UHCC reached 5 runs off 1 over before the heavens opened and hindered the 2's promotion push detrimentally.
Round 18 of the Enco Halifax Cricket League saw both teams get back to winning ways & maintain their promotion ambitions.
The 1st team had an excellent victory away at Queensbury CC in what was a tight game. Performences of merit were:- With the bat, Harvey Lockwood top scored with 27 runs, ably supported by Thomas Wightman, Harry Scott & Thomas Wilson all with scores in the 20's. With the ball Charlie Wightman shone in his spell of 10 Overs, 3 maidens, 4 wickets for 18 runs, supported well by Thomas Wilson's 3 wickets for 30 runs.
The 2nd team had an excellent win at home against tough opposition in Low Moor Holy Trinity CC. Performances of Merit were:- With the bat Dan Nicholl's excelled with with his knock of 50 runs. With the ball Haroon Hanif's 3 wickets for 9 runs was exceptional, ably supported by all his bowling partners, Alfie Ruttle's 2 for 12 Graham Whitworth's 2 for 33 & John Stanger's 3 for 25.
Round 17 of the Enco Halifax Cricket League saw both teams promotion ambitions dented with both sides losing at home & away.
The 1st team did all the hard work in reducing Outlane CC to 88 all out at home, but somehow managed not to achieve that score by being 77 all out.. Performances of merit were:- With the bat Usman Ali shone with his knock of 37. With the ball Harry Scott's figures of 6 overs 5 wickets for 22 runs were the pick but Thomas Wilson's 12.3 overs 5 maidens 4 wickets for 38 runs was excellent support.
The 2nd team were defeated away at Clayton CC. in a reduced 41 over game. Clayton CC batted 1st acquiring a score of 195/6. UHCC fell short of this total in reaching 160/8 in their allocated 41 overs. Performances of merit were:- With the bat Harry Gowler's knock 32 & Alfie Ruttle's score of 29 were the pick. With the ball well, nobody really excelled this week. 
Round 16 of the Enco Halifax Cricket League saw an excellent away victory for the 1st team and a home none starter for the 2nd team due to the poor weather in what was supposedly a double header weekend against Augustinians CC at home and away.
​The 1st team won the toss and fielded first. Restricting Augustinians CC to 57 all out. Performances of merit with the ball went to Jack Stephenson's 14 overs 3 maidens 3 wickets for 22 runs and  Edward Kay's 14 overs 4 maidens 3 wickets for 23 runs. UHCC batsmen made short work of reaching the total for the loss of x1 wicket. Performances of merit with the bat were Thomas Wightman's knock of 28  runs n/o and Harvey Lockwood's knock of 24 n/o were sufficient for a good win.

Round 15 of the Enco Halifax Cricket League was a bumper 24 point weekend with excellent wins for both teams. The 1st team's excellent very quick 12 point victory at home to Bridgeholme CC had an outstanding performance with the ball by Matthew Broadbent in his 8.4 overs, 3 maidens,  8 wickets for 20 runs. With the bat, Tom Wightman top scored with 16 runs ably supported by Joseph Woodhouse 10 not out was all that was needed to reach a 32 run score.
The 2nd team match away at Luddendenfoot CC had performances of merit from, with the bat Matthew Haigh in his knock of 55 not out & capt Dan Nicholl's knock of 49 not out. with the ball Harry Gowler shone with his 4 wickets for 23 runs supported well by John Stanger with his 4 wickets for 38 runs.

Round 14 of the Enco Halifax Cricket League saw only 1 game played.
The 1st team's excellent 12 point victory away against Sowerby St Peters CC had performances of merit with the bat by Tom Wightman who top scored with 66 runs supported well by Harry Scott 36 runs & Callum Fern 20 runs. With the ball Thomas Wilson's 3 wickets for 32 & Jack Stephenson's 3 for 41 runs were the pick.
The 2nd team match  at home to Cullingworth CC was cancelled due to rain being the winner once again.

Round 13 of the Enco Halifax Cricket League had  different outcomes.
The 1st team's excellent 12 point victory at home against Cullingworth had performances of merit with the bat, Captain for the day Jack Stephenson 33, Callum Fern 30, Harry Scott 29. With the ball Eddy Kay's 10 overs, 2 Maidens 5 wickets for 34 runs was the pick & Capt Jack Stephenson's  3 wickets for 21. 
the 2nd team match away at Cullingworth CC failed to complete due to rain being the winner. UHCC managed to get them 8 wickets down, and gaining 5 Points in the process. J. Stanger's  3 wickets for 60 & Alfie Ruttles 2 for 34 were the pick.
Round 12 of the Enco Halifax Cricket League had another bumper 24 point weekend  with both UHCC teams beating Oakworth CC at home & away.
The 1st team's  12 point victory away from home could have gone either way but performances of merit  which won the game were, with the bat Joseph Woodhouse 32  & x4 others scoring more than 20 runs. with the ball Matt Broadbent had another excellent spell  with 11 Overs, 4 maidens, 4 wickets for 32 runs ably supported by young Charlie Wightman 3 wickets for 17 runs & Eddy Kay's 2 wickets for 1 run. 
An excellent 12 point victory at home for the 2nd team Keeps them in top spot in the league. Performances of merit from Daniel Martin with his excellent knock of 59 runs, & Zack B Wood's maiden club 50 in his cracking knock of 52 at the age of 14.
With the ball, Haroon Hanif excelled with 3 wickets for 18 runs ably supported by Alfie Ruttle & Graham Whitworth with 2 wickets each.
Round 11 of the Enco Halifax Cricket League had a varied outcome with the 1st team unfortunately losing, but the 2nd team winning well again.
The 1st team were sadly defeated away at Old Town CC despite creditable performances with the bat by Usman Ali (40) & Joe Manning (31). Thomas Wilson being the pick of the bowlers with 4 wicket for 31 runs from his 5 over spell.
An excellent 12 point victory at home for the 2nd team against Leymoor CC. Performances of merit from Charlie Gallagher in his fine knock of 81 & captain for the day Dan Nicholl's knock of 69 runs.
With the ball, that oldish fellow Stanger prospered once again with 5 wickets for 27 runs ably supported by Oliver Boyes with 3 wickets for 40 runs.

Round 10 of the Enco Halifax Cricket League had a 23 point outcome with both teams winning well.
An excellent 12 point victory at home for the 1st team against Leymoor CC, whilst the 2nd team had a great 11 point victory away at Stones CC.
The 1st team peformances of merit were Joe Manning with his excellent Knock of 70 runs supported well by Tom Wightman 31. With the ball Matt Broadbent shone brightest with figures of 6 for 40 from his 12.3 over spell. Capt Jack Stephenson also, in taking 4 for 31 from his 12 Overs.  2nd team performances of merit were Joseph Woodhouse excellent knock of 65 not out supported well by Dan Nicholls 44 runs. With the ball Harry Gowler claimed 4 wickets for 46 runs, ably supported by Haroon Hanif with his figures of 3 wickets for 35 runs. 
Round 9  of the Enco Halifax Cricket League  saw a varied outcome with an excellent away win for the 1st team at Stones CC, whilst the 2nd team put up a good fight in a top 2 clash in a loosing cause against Old Town CC at home.
The 1st teams excellent victory had outstanding performances by Usman Ali, batting at No 9, scoring 65 Runs from 38 balls consisting of x7 4's and x5 6's supported well by Callum Fern (25 runs). With the ball Jack Stephenson & Matt Broadbent excelled both sharing the spoils in taking x5 wickets each.
In the 2nd teams hard fought defeat, George Turton excelled with a knock of 97 just 3 overs short of carrying the bat. Supported well by Dan Nicholls knock of 39. With the ball both Harry Gowler & John Stanger had 3 wickets each.
Round 8  of the Enco Halifax Cricket League  saw another bumper 24 point weekend for the club with both teams gaining excellent victories in the sunshine.
A convincing win for the 1st team away at Bradley & Colne CC. MoM Performance by Jack Stephenson with the ball in taking 6 wickets for 15 runs from his 10.2 over spell. Callum Fern and Harry Scott performed well with the bat with their respective knocks of 24 & 15, safely guiding the team to their 48 run total required.
2nd Team won well at home against Southowram CC, with an exceptional MoM performance from Graham Whitworth in scoring 76 runs with the bat, and then taking 5 wickets for 21 runs in his 8.5 Over spell. Also with the bat, valuable contributions were made by Richard Wood (41) Cpt Dan Nicholls (37) & Matthew Haigh (35).​
Round 7 of the Enco Halifax Cricket league Sadly saw both teams defeated.
1st team lost at home to Queensbury CC. Performances of merit were:- Jack Stephenson's knock of (46) runs, ably supported by Callum Fern (30) & Harry Scott (29) The latter Harry Scott performed best with the ball in taking 3 wickets for 43 runs. 
2nd Team were defeated at Low Moor Holy Trinity CC with performance of merit from, With the bat Dan Nicholls  excelled with his super knock of 80, supported well by George Turton (23) & David Bottomley (22). With the ball Alfie Ruttle toiled well in the heat and deserved better figures than those shown.

​Sunday 28/05/2023 saw a UHCC T20 side defeat two teams to reach the T20 Plate finals day, scheduled to take part 03/09/2023 at Cullingworth CC.
Well done Lads.
Harry Scott led the way with the bat ably supported by Skipper Charlie Gallagher. With the ball Harry Scott shone with a great spell achieving 4 wickets for 17 runs.
Thomas Wilson shone with the bat and ball achieving 48 runs and getting 3 wickets for 19 runs. Skipper Charlie Gallagher performed well also with 27 runs and 2 wickets for 13 runs.
Round 6 of the Enco Halifax Cricket league saw another bumper 24 point weekend for the club with both teams having excellent victories in the sunshine.
1st team won a high scoring away game at Outlane CC Many performances of merit. With the bat, Joe Manning top scored with 64 runs supported magnificently by Thomas Wilson 63, & Usman Ali 60, Richard Wood 35 both not out. With the ball Jack Stephenson excelled with a 7 wicket haul. Our keeper Harry Scott removed his pads to come on and take the last 2 wickets. 2nd Team at home defeated Clayton CC with performance of merit from, With the bat George Turton excelled with his knock of 49, supported by David Bottomley's knock of 29 runs. With the ball Thomas Wilks excellent 5 wickets for 18 runs  & John Stanger (Old Bloke again) taking 5 wickets for 47 Runs.

Sunday 21/05/2023 saw UHCC 2nd team progress further in the the second round of the Crossley Shield with a good win over Old Town CC at home.
Performances of note were:-
Tom Wightman's magnificent knock of 62 runs with the bat ably supported by Thomas Wilson's 23 runs.
With the ball Harry Gowler & Alfie Ruttle performed admirably taking x4 wickets each.
In the field, Wicket Keeper Daniel Martin had x1 catch & x2 crucial stumpings.
UHCC rewarded with a 3rd round home tie against Thornton CC on 25th June.
Round 5 of the Enco Halifax Cricket league saw a varied outcome.
1st Team lost at home to Augustinians CC 1st team. The 2nd Team however, had an excellent win away at Augustinians CC 2nd team. 
Performances of note were:- 1st Team Harry Scott's 26 runs & Joe Manning's 23 runs with the bat. With the ball, Thomas Wilson took 4 wickets for 47 & Matt Broadbent's 3 wickets for 30 as well as Harry Scott's 2 wickets for 7 runs. 2nd Team  saw important knocks of  26 & 22 from Skipper Craig Gardner &  George Turton respectively, Whilst with the ball the old bloke from last week got another 4 wicket haul ably supported by Alfie Ruttle & Graham Whitworth with 2 wickets each.

Round 4 of the Enco Halifax Cricket league saw a bumper maximum 24 point weekend.
1st Team away at Bridgeholme CC had an excellent victory with performances of note from Harry Scott with 62 not out, and Jack Stephenson's 41 runs not out & 6 wicket haul for 34 runs. In the 2nd teams victory against Luddendenfoot CC at home, David Bottomley had a man of the match performance, in difficult batting conditions, in his knock of 34 not out. With the ball, some old bloke got figures of 5 Wickets for 16 runs?
Both teams involved in cup action this weekend.
1st Team were soundly beaten at home by Illingworth St Mary's CC. Parish Cup 1st round.
2nd Team played a tremendous game in defeating Bridgeholme CC away. Crossley Shield 1st round.
Performances of merit were :- x3 half Centuries with the bat. Capt Craig Gardner leading the way with an unbeaten 59 N/O & Richard Wood's 53 runs & Thomas Wilks 50 runs N/O. With the ball a new hero emerged with David Stones taking 6 wickets for 17 runs & scoring 37 runs with the bat.

Week 3 of the Enco Halifax Cricket League saw both UHCC teams having fine victories, & both collecting Maximum Points. 1st team beat Sowerby St Peters CC at home with fine performances with the ball by Jack Stephenson & Matthew Broadbent (5 wickets apiece). 2nd Team defeated Oxenhope away from home with excellent performances with the ball from Alfie Ruttle (4wkts) &  Harry Gowler (3 Wkts) and a captains knock with the bat from Dan Nicholls. 

Week 2 of the Enco Halifax Cricket League saw our 1st team play, sadly to a defeat, but our 2nd team were thwarted by the inclement weather once again.

Week 1 of the 2023 Enco Halifax Cricket League was a washout unfortunately.

We are a family orientated Cricket Club looking for junior players  (girls & boys) at under 9s level, with training activities based upon kids having fun and developing their skills.
School years 1, 2, 3 & 4 are eligible for U9 cricket.

Outdoor Training

Week 22 of the 2022 Enco Halifax Cricket League is the final fixture of the 2022 season. UHCC 1st team had no fixture this week. The 2nd team however played at Cullingworth CC away but were sadly defeated. 2nd team performances of the day were 24 runs for Thomas Wilks & 23 runs for Daniel Martin with the bat. Bowling,  2 wickets for 47 for Thomas Wilks & 1 wicket each for Graham Whitworth, Oliver Boyes & John Stanger.
​In conclusion, the first team finished with 151 points with x10/20 victories and the second team with 136 Points with x8/22 victories.

 Week 21 of the 2022 Enco Halifax Cricket League saw excellent wins for both the first and second teams. The 1st team defeated Outlane CC at home whilst the 2nd team won away from home against Stones CC.
Performances of the day were an excellent 77 runs for our keeper Callum Fern supported by Thomas Wilson's knock of 41 Not out. With the ball Tom Wightman excelled with a 6 wicket haul for just 16 runs! In the 2nd team Dan Nicholls led the way with a fine 32 runs supported by Daniel Martin 31 and David Bottomley 29. With the ball x3 bowlers George Turton, Alfie Ruttle & John Stanger took 3 wickets each. 
Week 20 of the 2022 Enco Halifax Cricket League saw narrow defeats for both the first and second teams.
The 1st  team were defeated away from home by Stones CC whilst the 2nd team lost at home to Southowram CC.
Performances of the day were an excellent 64 runs by the first team's Joseph Woodhouse supported by Joe Manning's knock of 45. Opener Matthew Broadbent had a decent knock of 39 also.  In the 2nd team's defeat Vice skipper Thomas Wilks excelled with the ball  in taking 6 wickets for 38 runs .  Graham Whitworth's 28 runs were the highlight of the 2nd teams batting.
Week 19 of the 2022 Enco Halifax Cricket League saw defeats for both the first and second teams.
The 1st  team were defeated at home by Southowram CC whilst the 2nd team lost away at Low Moor CC.
Performances of the day were a valiant 36 runs by the first team's Tom Wightman supported by Joseph Woodhouse knock of 34. Archie Stokes  had a notable spell with the ball in taking 6 wickets in the first team.  In the 2nd team's defeat skipper Craig Gardner  scored  a valiant 57 runs supported by Keeper Daniel Martin's knock of 30.

 UHCC played the favourites and eventual competition winners Moorlands CC in the first semi final, but faired quite well in getting their wickets and at least half the oppositions score.

Week 18 of the 2022 Enco Halifax Cricket League saw defeats for both the first and second teams.
The 1st  team were defeated away from home by Mount CC, whilst the 2nd team lost at home to Queensbury CC.
Performances of the day were an excellent 56 runs by first team's Joseph Woodhouse supported by skipper Ian Wightman's Knock of 30. Tom Wightman had a notable spell with the ball in taking 4 wickets in 4 overs for 18 runs in the first team.  Despite the 2nd team's defeat a valiant effort in carrying the bat was made by opener Robert Wild in a superb knock of 93 not out.

Week 17 of the 2022 Enco Halifax Cricket League saw an excellent victory for the first team at home against Augustinians CC
The 2nd  team were sadly defeated away by Old Town CC.
Performances of the day were a magnificent 105 runs by first team Skipper Ian Wightman ably supported by Matthew Haigh with a knock of 39. Both Matthew Broadbent & Jack Stephenson had 3 wicket hauls in the first team.   Despite the 2nd team's defeat valiant efforts with the bat were made by Robert Wild with a knock of 53 & young Louis Lockwood's knock of 48, and two 2 wickets each for Edward Kay & Jack Brazier.
Week 16 of the 2022 Enco Halifax Cricket League saw an excellent victory for the first team away at Old Town CC
The 2nd  team were sadly defeated at home by Bradley & Colne CC.
Performances of the day were an excellent 4 wicket haul each for Matthew Broadbent and young Charlie Wightman, Plus a top score of 24 runs for Charlie Gallagher with the bat in their win over Old Town CC.  In the 2nd team an excellent 5 wicket haul for Jordan France and a top score of 32 runs for young Louis Lockwood and 31 runs for Daniel Martin in their defeat to Bradley & Colnebridge CC
Week 15 of the 2022 Enco Halifax Cricket League saw both sides unfortunately defeated.
The 1st team defeated at home by Bradley & Colne CC.
The 2nd team defeated Away at Luddendenfoot CC.
Performances of the day were a welcome return to form knock of 42 for Jack Stephenson and excellent 4 wicket haul for Charlie Gallagher & 3 wickets for young Charlie Wightman in the first team. In the 2nd team a great knock of 86 by Richard Wood ably supported by Tom Wilks knock of 33 on his return from injury.
Week 14 of the 2022 Enco Halifax Cricket League saw a sensational high scoring win for the 1st team away at Bridgeholme CC.
The 2nd team also had a fantastic win at home against Cullingworth CC.
Performances of the day were a superb maiden 100 by Joseph Woodhouse & 56 Runs from Matthew Haigh along with Knocks of 45, 43, 37 & 30 by Capt Ian Wightman, Callum Fern, Jack Stephenson & Charlie Gallagher respectively, in a magnificent 389 run Chase by the 1st team. In the 2nd Team Graham Whitworth's excellent knock of 93, ably supported by skipper Craig Gardner with his winning not out Knock of 40 was the pick of the bunch.
Week 13 of the 2022 Enco Halifax Cricket League saw a bad defeat for the first team at home to Cullingworth CC and a fine win for the 2nd team away at Leymoor CC.
The 1st Team had done the hard work in getting Cullingworth CC all out for 97, but failed to reach that score by getting all out for 60.
Performances of the day were an excellent  knock  of 74 by 2nd team skipper Craig Gardner, supported by Josh Moorhouse with 29 runs and a 5 wicket haul for John Stanger. In the 1st team a fine 5 wicket haul by Matthew Broadbent and 34 top scoring runs for Joseph Woodhouse.
Week 12 of the 2022 Enco Halifax Cricket League saw a hard fought victory for the 1st Team at home to Leymoor CC, and a thrilling high scoring tie for the 2nd team away at Lowmoor CC
The 1st Team had an excellent win, but only just, in the very last over.
Performances of the day were an excellent winning  knock  of 40 n/o by Seb Wild in the firsts, along with 3 wickets each for Thomas Wilson and Archie Stokes. In the 2nds, A superb maiden club century (115) by Robbie Wild and excellent  Dan Nichols (85)  also supported by Josh Moorhouse 33, & Richard Wood 23 and a 5 wicket haul for John Stanger in the 2nd's 275 run tie at Lowmoor CC.

UHCC Announcement.

It is with much sadness that the cricket club announces our former groundsman David Laycock has passed away.
Our thoughts at this very sad time are with his wife Geraldine and son Russell.
David was a key member of the UHCC family. Working very hard, tirelessly, often alone, in preparing excellent wickets for the teams to play on week after week, year after year.
A former cricketer himself, David started playing in his teens at Ruddlesdens in the Dewsbury League, playing their home games at Sands Lane. He then moved to Gomersal in the 60's and Birstall for a couple of seasons. He was offered semi pro monies at Windhill and another Bradford League club but was never interested in playing for money. He then started playing for Batley in the mid 70's where his younger brother Colin played. At that stage, Batley were playing in the 2nd division of the Central Yorkshire League. Notable players in the team were David Battye and Paul Heaton. The playing standard began to improve and Batley were promoted to division 1 in 1979/80. David was scoring plenty of runs including centuries in consecutive years against Hunslet Nelson. Promotion meant that new players were required to strengthen the team and under new captain Peter Trevitt semi pro terms were offered to several new players from the Huddersfield area including Geoff Gill, Ian Kenworthy and Brian Mason. David continued scoring runs batting  in the early order. As the first team continued to be strengthened David worked his way into the 2nd team where he won the batting prize several times before his accident in Corfu in 1987 which forced him to stop playing and watch his son Russell develop his cricketing prowess!
With the help of Roy Holdsworth David was persuaded to take up the groundsman role at Upper Hopton CC in the mid 2000's. He did this successfully for many years and developed the square massively into the good quality cricket wicket it now is.

Week 11 of the 2022 Enco Halifax Cricket League had no fixture for the first eleven this week. The onus then was on the 2nd team to perform well against Luddendenfoot CC at home and to try end the run of 4 consecutive defeats .
The 2nd Team had an excellent win, an all round team performance showing the ability is there to improve their league position.
Performances of the day were excellent knocks  of 38 & 36 by George Turton & Graham Whitworth and a half decent bowling performance by John Stanger taking 4 wickets for 15 runs, ably supported by Graham Whitworth, Thomas Wilkes and Oliver Boyes with 2 wickets each .
Week 10 of the 2022 Enco Halifax Cricket League resulted in an extremely close defeat for the first team away at Outlane CC.
2nd Team unfortunately lost at home against Stones CC.
Performances of the day were Matt Broadbent's excellent knock of 52 ably supported by Charlie Gallagher's  knock of 47 in the 1st team, and an excellent knock of 71 not out from Richard Wood, and Thomas Wilks 3 wicket haul in the 2nd teams defeat.

Week 9 of the 2022 Enco Halifax Cricket League resulted in an excellent victory for the first team at home against Stones CC.
2nd Team unfortunately lost away at Southowram CC.
Performances of the day were Thomas Wilson's excellent knock of 61 ably supported by Joseph Woodhouse's  knock of 46 in the 1st team, and an excellent knock of 50 not out from our stand in keeper Graeme Whitworth in the 2nd team.

Week 8 of the 2022 Enco Halifax Cricket League proved very difficult  once again for both teams, as both sides suffered defeats.
1st team were defeated by Southowram CC away, whilst 2nd team were defeated by Low Moor Holy Trinity CC at home.
Performances of the day were Tom Wightman's excellent knock of 74 supported by Charlie Gallagher's  knock of 43 not out in the 1st team, and an excellent knock of 69 from Dan Nichols ably supported by David Stones knock of 51 in the 2nd team.
Week 7 of the 2022 Enco Halifax Cricket League proved very difficult,  for both teams suffered defeats.

1st team defeated by Mount CC at home whilst 2nd team were defeated by Queensbury on a freezing cold afternoon, away from home.

Once again reflecting how difficult it appears for both sides to muster back to back victories in this league.​

​Week 6 of the 2022 Enco Halifax Cricket League proved very successful  with both sides winning well.
Performances of the day were Tom Wightman's excellent 47 Knock along with Matthew Broadbent's 5 wicket haul for 32 runs in the first teams fine win over Augustinians CC away.
George Turton's knock of 63, ably supported by Craig Gardner's  40 and Dan Nichol's 37 in a 212 run total win for the 2nd team at home to Old Town CC.
Week 5 of the 2022 Enco Halifax Cricket League proved just how inconsistent both teams are presently, with both sides unfortunately suffering defeats.
Performances of the day were junior Seb Wild's excellent unbeaten 61 not out & Eddie Kay's great 5 wicket  haul  in the 2nd team's defeat away at Bradley & Colnebridge CC. Whilst Thomas Wilson's excellent 5 wicket haul and junior Archie Stokes fine 4 wickets in the 1st team's defeat  against Old Town CC at home.​

We will be holding indoor winter activities at St John Fishers School in Dewsbury starting on Wednesday 12th January to the 6th April 2022 between 6pm and 7pm.
For those not previously involved with cricket, at this age group we will be using soft balls and planning activities to suit the skill level of the kids, so don't worry if your child hasn't picked up a bat or thrown a ball before.

It is with much pleasure that we announce that our Club President Mr. Eric Conyers has had bestowed upon him the Simon Lees Memorial Trophy at the Enco Halifax Cricket Leagues Annual Dinner & Awards Presentation Evening  held on Fri 26th Nov 2021 at the Venue in Barkisland.
This is awarded for long and distinguished service to local cricket clubs. 
At 91 years young, Eric is the oldest recipient of this award having completed an amazing 75 years of continuous service for UHCC.
